Or spending the afternoon at your favorite new coffee shop reading your book (you know, the one you bought a the airport that you really want to read, but your vacation is always too hectic to give you the time? Yeah that one).

And we will be here just in time for the Edinburgh Beltane Fire Festival. A truly spell binding experience.

Edinburgh will be our cozy home base where we can launch a leisurely wandering day trips through the highlands of Scotland but still have our little home away from home to come back to.

We have plenty of delightful things to do together with enough time to explore and recharge on your own.

This is the balance we find best accommodates introverts who want to see the world.

DAY 1
Settle in and Relax

• Your private driver will pick you up at the airport

• This is considered a free day for early arrivals

• Welcome dinner

• Evening walk with new friends

  • There is nothing quite like an evening walk in a new place. Things look so different at night, more magical, more ethereal somehow, especially in Edinburgh. Known as the most haunted city on earth, it is still somehow, so cozy and safe feeling, even at night.

Get To Know The City

• Women’s History Private Tour

• Optional hike up Arthur’s Seat

DAY 3
Into The Highlands

• Early Breakfast

• Full Day Private guided tour into the Scottish Highlands to see the castles and the COWS

• Lunch together
  For those of you that loved Outlander, there will be many of those sites on this excursion, for the rest of us, the sites will simply be: CASTLES!! and COWS!!

DAY 4
Day of Leisure

• Late Breakfast for the day of leisure

• Tour Edinburgh Castle

• Afternoon Tea at The Witchery

• Evening Free

• meals: breakfast, afternoon tea (you will be full)

DAY 5
Beltane!

• Explore Dean’s Village

• Lunch

• The Edinburgh Beltane Fire Festival!

  • Put on by the same folks who do the Annual and World Renowned Samhuinn Fire Festival

  • Costumes encouraged but not required!

Day 6

• Free Day

  • Just enjoy the day to yourself OR

  • Maybe do some vintage shopping? We are a huge fan

  • Perhaps some Galleries or Museums?

  • Whatever you want we are here to help you find it

• Tour ends at Checkout

  • But don’t worry, your Avalon Tour Leader will be on hand to see you safely on your way, and maybe enjoy one last cuppa together before you go

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Fitness Level: 2 - most can participate
Recommended ability to walk 3 consecutive hours at a steady pace (not very slow :: not very fast)
City walking up occasional hills and stairs
Nature walking with slight inclines and occasionally uneven ground
