For city stays
We use either boutique hotels or luxury rentals
We have very strict metrics for aesthetics, size, and location

City stays will be within (very very short) walking distance of local cafes, restaurants, and shops. But we are careful to not book in the center of the loud party neighborhoods

Some trips, such as Morocco will have a variety of accommodations, including hotels, local family stays, riads, and luxury tents

The listed price is per person for a shared room, please let us know if you are bringing a friend/girlfriend you would like to bunk with.
If you are flying solo (YES we love to see it)
We will pair you with a delightful fellow traveler, and who knows, this could become a lifelong friend!

We may have a limited number of private rooms for an additional cost

Traveler’s Insurance?

Traveler’s Insurance will be required for all tours starting in 2024. Guests should find insurance that will cover them should they need to cancel a tour past the grace period, or need medical care while on vacation.

What About Flights?

Your flights are not included

When booking be sure that your flight arrives in our host country the day the tour starts. Unless you want to come earlier, of course.

And pay attention to those tours with different arrival and departure airports.

We like to call them micro-groups.
6-10 women is our sweet spot. We find this most accommodating for true independents and introverts like us.

Our tours require a minimum number of 6 travelers to launch

Please do not purchase your airline tickets until we have confirmed the tour launch via email.

If we do not make the tour minimum, your deposit will be refunded in full

What’s your age range?

We mostly attract women in their early 20s to late 40s.
~ But age is just a number we notice as Gen X ages. What strangely ageless creatures they are.
Our founder is in her mid 40’s and most of our tour leaders are in their 30’s. Our local guides range in age from 25-82

Minimum age is 18

Can you accommodate
Vegetarians and other
food specificities

Vegetarians most defintiely

Vegans and GF can be a little more challenging in some destinations.

Our founder has been a vegetarian for over 30 years
All other specificities we can accommodate to the best of our ability. We will almost always be dining in restaurants (or hotels for breakfasts), and we will certainly do our best to find venues that can accommodate all of our traveler’s needs.

Payments

Payments are divided into 3 installments

A $500 non-refundable deposit reserves your spot

1st half is due at tour confirmation

Final and Full Payment is due 2-3 months before the Tour Start Date

*Any booking made within 90 days requires full and complete payment upon booking

Cancellation Policy

Book with Confidence 

All reservation deposits made at least 90 days before the departure date
come with a
7-day grace period
within which you are entitled to a full refund of your $500 reservation deposit
No questions asked 

After 7 days and for all reservations made within 90 days of departure
Reservation Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable

If we cancel the tour
for lack of enrollment or any other reason except Force Majeure (see terms and conditions)
Your tour will be 100% refunded including your reservation deposit

If you cancel
your spot in writing at least 120 days before tour start date
All payments (not including $500 deposit) can be put towards a different trip with Avalon Women's Travel Co. within the same calendar year as your original booking.

Cancellation less than 120 days from departure after 7 day grace period
If you cancel less than 120 days from tour start date
All deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable

This is where your travel insurance comes in.
Please make sure you acquire an insurance plan that meets your needs. Covering voluntary guest cancellation is recommended.

Travel Insurance is required,
and recommended you purchase immediately so that in the event you need to cancel, you will be able to recover your costs.

Why Though?

In the event of unexpected cancellations, our local suppliers and guides are not able to refund our payments, so we unfortunately can not refund yours. This is why we require you to have traveler’s insurance, and we recommend you get the most comprehensive coverage that you can.
